USC Los Angeles apartments near USC Village: what students are posting

4 min read

If you are searching for USC Los Angeles apartments near USC Village, this post sets out two things side by side: what students have been posting about the area in local housing groups, and what is actually listed on our Los Angeles board right now. USC Village sits on Jefferson Boulevard, next to the University Park campus, and it was mentioned in 6 of the student posts in local Facebook housing groups from 17-19 Oct 2026. We have kept the two sources separate on purpose. Student posts tell you what people are asking for and quoting, while our listings tell you what a landlord has actually put up for rent, with its own price and lease details.

What Students Are Posting About Housing in Los Angeles

Across the student posts in local Facebook housing groups from 17-19 Oct 2026, 42 posts were analyzed, and the median rent per person that students quoted in those posts was $1,025, taken from 55 dollar figures students typed. That number is a median of what students wrote in their own posts. It is not Off-Campus Universe listing data and it is not a market rate, so treat it as a picture of what people are asking about rather than a price you should expect to pay. In those same student posts from 17-19 Oct 2026, some topics came up much more often than usual: furnished housing was mentioned in 71% of posts, in-unit laundry in 64%, being close to campus in 45%, parking in 48%, a private room or bathroom in 43%, semester timing in 26% and utilities included in 17%. Students in those posts also named floor plans including studios, 1b1b and 2b2b units, a 3b3b, a 4x4 and townhouses. Place names that came up three or more times in those student posts included Los Angeles, USC Village, DTLA and Southern California. What this tells you is what other students are looking for, which is useful when you decide which features matter most to you. It does not tell you what any particular building offers, so always check a listing's own details before you rely on it.

USC Los Angeles Apartments Near USC Village: What We Know and What We Don't

Here is everything we hold from students on USC Los Angeles apartments near USC Village: across the student posts in local housing groups from 17-19 Oct 2026, 6 posts mentioned USC Village, and the dollar figures quoted in those posts were $1,025, $1,155, $1,600, $1,995 and $2,050. Those are amounts students typed in their own posts, not listing prices, and we cannot tell you which unit, room type or lease each one referred to. On our own board, only one current listing names USC Village in its title, the furnished studio listed at $1,888/month. The other four listings above are comparisons. They are furnished and listed as close to campus by car, but none of them names USC Village in its title or address, so we are not describing them as near it. We also do not hold walk times, bike times or transit times for any listing. The only distance measure we have is each listing's Distance by Car field, which for these five is either under 5 minutes or 5 to 10 minutes from campus. If being within walking distance of USC Village matters to you, look up each address on a map yourself and ask the landlord about the route before you sign.

When you compare listings in this part of Los Angeles, it helps to sort them by how the rent is charged. The Renovated Furnished Rooms listing is marked Rent by Room, with private rooms in a 5-bedroom house, so its $980/month price is for a room. The others are not marked Rent by Room, so ask each landlord whether the listed price covers the whole unit and how it would be split if you are sharing. Lease length varies too: this group includes a 6-month lease, an 11-month lease and several year leases, which can make a real difference if you only need housing for the academic year.

Since furnished housing came up in so many of those student posts, it is worth knowing that the Furnished field on our listings is a simple yes or no. It does not tell you what furniture is in the unit, so ask for a room-by-room list and current photos. The same goes for laundry and parking, which students mentioned often: unless a listing's own details say so, ask the landlord directly rather than assuming either is included.

Tips for Renting Near Campus in Los Angeles

  • Ask whether the listed price is per room or for the whole unit, and get the answer in writing before you apply.

  • Check the lease length against your plans, since listings here range from 6-month and 11-month terms to full year leases.

  • If laundry, parking or utilities matter to you, ask the landlord directly, because those details are not in the listing fields we hold.

  • Map each address yourself at the times you would travel, and use the Distance by Car field only as a starting point.
